M.Tech for Working Professionals

Master of Technology (M.Tech) for working professionals is a technical professional postgraduate level course of 2 years duration. However, there is a strict eligibility criteria for admission in M.Tech course as it is a technical course so only students with relevant knowledge of the subject can pursue the course. An applicant who has completed either the B.Tech (Bachelor of Engineering) or a BE (Bachelor of Engineering) degree can apply for the M.Tech in the specialisation in which they completed their bachelor’s. For instance, if you have completed your B.Tech in Computer Science, then you can pursue M.Tech in Computer Science and related domains only. Now, M.Tech can not be pursued in the online mode because it is a technical course and requires practical skill development. Therefore, the government of India does not allow the M.Tech course to be pursued in the online mode. However, there is one exception. Online M.Tech can be pursued by the working professionals under the Work Integrated Learning Program (WILP) scheme of the government. The WILP is a scheme that aims at offering higher education opportunities to working professionals without leaving their jobs and upskilling themselves.
