UGC NET June 2024 Registration Begins: Know the Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible, applicants must have received at least 55% of their master's degree. Candidates from reserved groups, on the other hand, receive a 5% relaxation. Candidates must have completed their post-graduate studies in relevant subjects at a UGC-recognized institution or university.
Fees:
The General category requires applicants to pay a fee of Rs 1150, while general EWS/OBC(NCL) candidates must pay Rs 600. SC/ST/Third-gender applicants will be required to pay a fee of Rs 325. Candidates in the PwD category are exempt from paying any fees.
What is new about this session:
The UGC Chairman, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, declared that applicants enrolled in a four-year/eight-semester bachelor's degree program in their final semester/year may also register for the test. These applicants can appear in any field they want to pursue for a PhD, regardless of the discipline in which they finished their four-year bachelor's degree.
Mode of Exam:
The UGC NET June 2024 will be administered completely in Computer Based Test (CBT) modality across various shifts. The test will consist of two papers, each with objective-type, multiple-choice questions. Candidates will have three hours to complete both papers, which will consist of 150 questions.
