Is Entrance Exam Mandatory for Online MBA?
The entrance examination is not mandatory for admission in online MBA courses . For most of the universities, you get a direct admission into the course based on your merit in 12th standard and graduation. However, there are still a few universities that give admissions based on entrance exam scores. Entrance exams are also of two types. The first type of entrance exam is the one that the university organises for admission solely into their own colleges. Such entrance exams are usually accompanied by personal interviews. The students must clear the cutoff released by the college to get admission. The second type of entrance exam is the national/state level entrance examinations like CAT, MAT, CMAT, IBSAT, XAT, NMAT, SNAP. Some universities consider your scores from these exams. These scores are not enough though, you need to go through a rigorous selection procedure before getting admission. However, there are only a few universities like the IIMs that consider these entrance exams for admission in online MBA programs.
