After getting the certificate, students can apply for full-time PhD programs. Various universities exist that give admission to students of non-NET fellowships. They need to manage their finances on their own. They will study and research among those individuals who get the JRF, SRF, or any other scholarships. But there is one thing in common between the two individuals: they get equal time to complete their PhD research and need to manually write the process and the research results in their thesis.

The Government of India (GoI) offers fellowships for ASEAN students to pursue a Ph.D. at any Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). The fellowship includes a monthly stipend of INR 31,000/- for the first two years, INR 35,000 for the remaining duration, and an annual research grant of up to INR 170,000 for research expenses. The maximum duration of the fellowship is 5 years. The GoI also offers ICCR fellowships for international students to pursue undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. studies at Indian institutions.
